The Liverpool Echo reports that Merseyside school children could be at risk of asbestos exposure in the classroom. Merseyside’s largest teaching union the NUT has raised concerns for children’s safety and say schools are an “asbestos timebomb” that can trigger lung disease in people decades after exposure.
